December can be a magical time of the year, when everything slows down for a moment and you gather with friends and family to focus on what really matters. However, if you often get so busy that you feel like you have lost the holiday spirit, it may be time to get away from the hustle and bustle and escape into the winter wonderland of Frisco, Colorado.
The holiday spirit is alive and well in this quaint mountain town, and you may find that you have such a magical time that you will remember why you love celebrating this season so much in the first place.
Wassail Days is a can't miss event in Frisco, Colorado, and the perfect time to plan a trip to Summit County. This year will be the 8th annual celebration of Wassail Days, which will take place from December 4-13, 2015.
The charming shops all along main street will be decked out in holiday lights and many of the shops will be handing out steaming cups of wassail, as they compete for the Wassail Cup. (Wassail is an Old English apple cider.) Sample the wassail from 12 different locations, collect stamps, and turn your card in at the Information Center for a much-coveted, limited-edition commemorative Wassail Days mug. (But don't wait till the last minute if you want a mug--when they're gone, they're gone!)
While you're visiting, you can find those one-of-a-kind gift items that will make the holiday merry for your friends and family. Shopping is so much more fun when you aren't fighting the crowds at big box stores and picking out items from a pre-determined list. Instead, enjoy browsing the charming shops in downtown Frisco, grab something to eat or drink at one of the many restaurants and coffee shops, and don't forget to vote for your favorite wassail!
