Colorado Holiday Shopping Tips

The holidays are right around the corner and everyone knows what that means: holiday shopping! Shopping in the Frisco, Colorado area can be an amazing experience and there are a ton of options available to find gifts for everyone on your list. Whether you are looking for something unique to impress that special someone, or a must-have electronic, you can likely find it right here in Summit County.

Prepare for Crowds in the City

While online shopping is becoming increasingly popular, that doesn't mean department stores won't be packed. Many specialty stores don't offer items for sale online yet, so some of Colorado's boutique shops will be just as busy as they were last year. Other stores are expected to offer special in-store deals that will attract shoppers from all over. Malls in Denver will be crowded, not to mention the even-worse-than-normal traffic! So, to save time and your sanity, you might want to try to shopping in small towns whenever possible.

Make a Plan

It's helpful to have a holiday shopping plan. Figure out when you'll have time to go shopping and determine your budget. If you are looking for unique gifts, do some research to find the best shops. Remember that some of the best gifts come from locally owned stores, so be sure to include some in your shopping plans. While you may be tempted by some of the big box store deals, remember that many of the smaller stores have plenty to offer. With smaller advertising budgets, many locally-owned shops offer some impressive unadvertised deals!

Don't Delay

It's no secret that the hottest gifts tend to sell out the quickest. Especially if you want a specific item, start looking for it as early as possible. Stores progressively get more busy as it gets closer to Christmas Day. Christmas Eve is typically one of our busiest days here at Frisco Fun & Formal, and we will still have a shop full of wonderful gifts at that time. But we still recommend getting an early start. This is such an incredibly busy season, and time always seems to accelerate in mid-December. The holidays will be here before we know it!

Don't Forget to Breathe

Yes, it's crazy busy. But in the midst of checking things off your list, don't forget to stop and take a moment to breathe in the crisp winter air and soak in the spirit of the season. Listen to some holiday music, sip a cup of cocoa (or wassail!) and take a look around at the festive lights and decorations. There's just something magical about a mountain town Main Street during the holidays, which is just one reason we are so happy to be living life here in Summit County!
